The AHA recently hosted a webinar to launch the Strait of Canso's Clean Fuels Domestic Use Strategy that will determine how locally produced clean fuels that are made from hydrogen - like green ammonia, e-methanol, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and renewable diesel - can help to decarbonize and strengthen the local economy in the Strait of Canso region.  The study will lead to development of a roadmap to help Ricmond County, Port Hawkesbury and the Strait of Canso region take full advantage of clean fuel development - not just for exports, but also to spur local growth and decarbonization.

The project is funded by the Nova Scotia Clean Fuels Fund with support from EverWind Fuels, The Municipality of the County of Richmond, Potlotek First Nation, the municipality of Port Hawkesbury, Port Hawkesbury Paper, and Cape Breton Partnership. Deloitte is lead consultant for the study with support from Waterford Energy Services Ltd.
